Totes Isotoner

Totes Isotoner, the UK’s largest importer of umbrellas, receive around 4 container loads each week at their Billericay warehouse. Without loading docks at the site, the board deemed it necessary to invest in a form of mechanical loading system to assist in the offloading of goods at the rear of these containers.

Totes have therefore taken on a Romadek HH1500 mobile loading dock from Transdek, on the grounds of health and safety, and in order to make offloading more efficient. The system is positioned at the rear of arriving containers, providing a safe working platform for loaders to reach the top goods in the vehicle, up to 4 metres above the ground.

In between loads, the retracting wheels on the Romadek are powered down to allow the system to be moved aside, keeping access to the warehouse doorway free.

Transdek claim that the Romadek is just as robust as a static lift, for work either in the yard or warehouse, but provides much more versatile operation.
