Flexible vehicle-to-ground lift supports rapid expansion of online fulfilment operations
Next is one of the UK’s leading fashion and home retailers, operating a strong multichannel model across online, retail and distribution. The company runs a nationwide logistics network designed to support high-volume throughput, fast turnaround times and evolving fulfilment demands, underpinned by ongoing investment in its distribution infrastructure.
As part of a warehouse extension at its South Elmsall distribution centre, Next required a flexible loading solution in an area with no existing doors or loading bays. The lift needed to be installed quickly, without disruptive or costly groundworks, while maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency. Transdek supplied a 12-pallet, 5.3-tonne V2G lift, installed directly onto the internal floor slab, with a new opening formed in the external façade to enable rapid integration.
The V2G lift was installed within 1.5 days, allowing Next to keep the project on schedule and bring the new warehouse space into operation without delay. The solution provides level-access loading for a wide range of vehicle types, offering flexibility for both current operations and future fleet requirements, while delivering a safe, efficient and adaptable loading environment.
