V2G lift increases material handling capacity and site flexibility
FreshLinc specialises in end-to-end supply chain management of temperature-controlled fresh, chilled and horticultural products for retailers, growers and importers across the UK and Europe. Its FloraLinc division operates from a flat-floor distribution centre in Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, handling high-volume plant and horticultural deliveries efficiently.
With existing bays at full capacity, FreshLinc needed an additional loading solution for increasing volumes of plants and shrubs delivered on narrow trolleys. Previously, unloading relied on manual handling or forklifts, creating congestion. Transdek designed a bespoke V2G modular lift and dedicated area, optimised for the site’s flat-floor layout and high-volume, lightweight loads.
The V2G lift unloads a single-deck articulated vehicle in 25 minutes, handling up to 36 plant trolleys per cycle. Operating seven days a week, it has boosted throughput and reduced congestion at existing bays. Delivered in just four weeks, the project was completed on time and budget, with minimal disruption to daily FreshLinc operations.
