Flexible vehicle-to-ground lift supports rapid expansion of online fulfilment operations
Next is one of the UK’s leading fashion and home retailers, operating a robust multichannel model across online, retail and distribution channels. Its nationwide logistics network supports high-volume throughput and fast turnaround, while continued investment ensures the infrastructure evolves to meet changing fulfilment demands across multiple regions and peak seasonal trading periods.
As part of a warehouse extension at its South Elmsall distribution centre, Next required a flexible loading solution for an area without existing doors or bays. Installation needed to be rapid, avoiding disruptive groundworks. Transdek supplied a 12-pallet, 5.3-tonne V2G lift, mounted directly onto the internal floor slab with an external opening.
The V2G lift was installed within 1.5 days, enabling Next to remain on programme and bring the extended warehouse into operation without delay. It provides level-access loading for a wide range of vehicle types, supporting day-to-day operations and future fleet changes, while creating a safe, efficient and highly adaptable loading environment overall.
